Artist Description:
An elaborate daisy chain incorporating harakeke and pōhutukawa leaves, inspired by the simple joy of making daisy chains as a child in the beautiful groves on the farm where I grew up.
This work is a celebration of those carefree childhood moments and a reminder to us as parents, grandparents, and caregivers that the simplest experiences can often be the most memorable and profound. A handful of flowers and leaves, time spent in nature, and the freedom to create and play can become memories that stay with us for a lifetime.
Bio:
Cheryl Wright’s art is an extension of her deep love for nature. A multi-media artist, she works primarily with hard materials—such as corten steel, copper, and ceramics—while striving to create forms that appear soft and organic. Her work encourages viewers to reconnect with nature, fostering a sense of respect and a desire to protect it.
