Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Riverhaven Artland. By purchasing a ticket and entering the property for a Guided or Self-Directed Walking Tour, you (the “Visitor”) agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before completing your purchase.
1. Bookings and Payments
- All tickets must be paid for in full at the time of online checkout or the 50% deposit option is used.
- Tickets are valid only for the specific date and time slot selected at checkout.
- Children under the age of
14must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
2. Cancellation and Refund Policy
- Weather Policy: Tours operate rain or shine. We recommend wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for outdoor walking. In the event of extreme or unsafe weather conditions, Riverhaven Artland reserves the right to cancel the tour. If we cancel due to weather, you will be offered a reschedule or a full refund.
- Visitor Cancellations: Cancellations or rescheduling requests made by the Visitor must be submitted at least
48 hoursprior to the scheduled tour time to receive a full refund or exchange. Cancellations made after this period are non-refundable.
3. Nature of the Walk & Physical Requirements
- Riverhaven Artland is an outdoor, natural environment featuring uneven terrain, slopes, steps, gravel pathways, and unpaved tracks.
- Visitors are responsible for ensuring they have a suitable level of physical fitness to complete the walk.
- Covered, sturdy, closed-toe walking shoes are strictly required. Riverhaven Artland reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone wearing inappropriate footwear (such as high heels or flip-flops) for safety reasons, without refund.
4. Conduct and Safety Rules
To protect the artwork, the natural environment, and ensuring the safety of all guests, Visitors agree to the following rules:
- Look but Do Not Touch: Unless explicitly stated otherwise, touching, climbing, sitting on, or leaning against the sculptures and artworks is strictly prohibited.
- Stay on the Paths: Visitors must remain on designated walking paths and tracks at all times.
- Supervision of Minors: Parents, guardians, or group leaders are entirely responsible for the behavior and safety of children in their care.
- No Smoking or Vaping: Riverhaven Artland is a smoke-free and vape-free environment.
- Pets: Dogs must be on a leash at all times on the property.
- Waste: Please respect the environment. All rubbish must be placed in bins provided or taken with you.
5. Limitation of Liability and Risk Assumption
- Assumption of Risk: By entering Riverhaven Artland, the Visitor acknowledges that outdoor walking tours carry inherent risks (including but not limited to tripping, slipping, changing weather conditions, and falling debris). The Visitor voluntarily assumes all risks associated with participation.
- Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Riverhaven Artland, its owners, employees, and agents accept no liability for any personal injury, illness, loss, or damage to personal property sustained during the visit, howsoever caused.
- Visitor Liability: The Visitor agrees to hold Riverhaven Artland harmless against any claims, losses, or damages arising from the Visitor’s misconduct, negligence, or breach of these Terms and Conditions.
6. Photography and Media
- Personal photography and videography for non-commercial use are permitted and encouraged.
- Commercial photography, drone footage, or filming requires prior written permission from Riverhaven Artland management.
- By entering the park, you consent to Riverhaven Artland occasionally capturing crowd photos or video footage for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform a staff member upon arrival.
7. Governance
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
